Abacrow
Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you use the Abacrow website and client portal.
1. What Abacrow is
Abacrow is a UK-based online platform that helps connect clients with qualified accountants and streamlines the onboarding process. We provide tools for collecting information, sharing documents, generating quotes and communicating with accountants.
Abacrow itself is not a firm of accountants or regulated advisors. Any regulated accounting or tax work is carried out by the partner firms we introduce you to.
2. Using the platform
By using the Abacrow website or client portal you agree:
- To provide accurate information about yourself and your business.
- To only upload documents and data that you have the right to share.
- Not to use the platform for illegal, abusive or fraudulent activity.
- To keep your devices secure and not share secure portal links with people you do not trust.
3. Quotes and engagement
Any quote you receive through Abacrow is based on the information and documents you provide at the time. Quotes may be updated if your circumstances, records or requirements change.
Accepting a quote via the client portal signals that you would like to proceed on the terms shown. The exact engagement terms, including responsibilities, deadlines and fees, may be set out in a separate engagement letter provided by the accountant or firm you work with.
4. No personalised financial or tax advice on the site
Content on the Abacrow website is for general information only. It should not be treated as personalised accounting, tax, legal or financial advice. Decisions that could affect your tax or legal position should always be discussed with a qualified professional.
5. Security and availability
We take reasonable steps to keep the platform secure, including using encrypted uploads for documents and login flows designed for one-device-per-link access. However, no online service can be guaranteed error-free or always available.
There may be periods where the site or portal is unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades or issues outside our control (such as problems with hosting providers or networks).
6. Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, Abacrow will not be responsible for:
- Losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the platform.
- Loss of profits, revenue, business, data or goodwill arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform.
- Issues caused by third-party providers, such as accountants, hosting, telecoms or other services outside our direct control.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
7. Changes to the service and these terms
We may update the platform and these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make important changes, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know, for example by updating the date below and highlighting key changes on the website.
8. Governing law
These terms, and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. How exactly this applies may depend on where you are based and which accountant or firm you work with.
9. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms of Service, please contact us using the details on the Contact page and we'll do our best to help.
This page is a general overview of how Abacrow operates. It does not replace any specific engagement letter or contract you may enter into with an accountant or firm.
